A Torrance Police sergeant is turning to the community for help to support his son.
Sergeant James Walker and wife Leslie-Anne have four children, two boys and two girls. Sergeant James works at the Torrance Police Department and Leslie-Anne serves families as a birth and postpartum Doula.
On August 15, their worlds were turned upside down when they received devastating news about their seven year old son Drake. He has been diagnosed with DIPG, a terminal and very aggressive cancerous tumor on his brain stem.
They have created a GoFundMe page to help pay for treatment and take care of Drake’s medical needs. The Walkers hope the money raised can ease a tiny bit of the burden they face during this very difficult time. Their goal is to raise $100,000.

Wishing the family all things good. Our niece was accepted at St. Jude’s in Tennessee when she was diagnosed at ten months with brain cancer. She ‘lived’ there with her family for almost two years during treatment. She is canc er free an a majority of the costs were a gift from the hospital! I hope the family is looking into this incredible resource.
